About the concert

‍

The legendary Yellowjackets perform at Scena MONK.

Yellowjackets released their debut album in 1981, at the height of the fusion era. Ever since, they have stuck to blurring genre boundaries while refusing to be tied to any single style or era. Drawing on a wide mix of jazz currents, steeped in funk rhythms and always listening out for new sounds and technologies, Yellowjackets have evolved into a genre of their own.

Entering their fifth decade with 27 albums released, the band shows no signs of fatigue. Quite the opposite: as the title of their latest release, Fasten Up, suggests, we are witnessing an intriguing turn in the quartet’s work that captures the band’s ethos of unstoppable momentum and constant reinvention.

Fasten your seatbelts – Yellowjackets are back in Gdańsk with their foot to the floor.
