The “Czarno-białe ślady” (Black-and-White Traces) project was born in December 2013, out of longing for Grzegorz Ciechowski and the wish to mark the anniversary of his death. Instead of a traditional concert at Od Nowa in Toruń, the musicians played in Warsaw, in the historic space at Mysia 3 (the former censorship office). The evening proved magical, the audience went wild – so they decided to carry on.

For 7 years they performed as duos and trios: in clubs, theatres and at festivals. The culmination was a concert at Radio Gdańsk in October 2020 (thanks to Kamil Wicik), recorded without an audience during the pandemic. The lack of feedback from fans was like playing without oxygen – but Republika’s energy survived. The new acoustic versions of the classics were released on a record that remains a trace of those emotions.

Today the Bończyk / Krzywański / Nowak trio is back live! Intimate, black-and-white arrangements of Republika songs – full of nostalgia, reflection and that addictive need for contact with the audience.
