About the concert

“Z Wasowskim do łóżka” (To Bed with Wasowski) is Monika Borzym’s latest musical project, featuring songs by her beloved Polish composer, Jerzy Wasowski.

Monika Borzym is one of Poland’s leading jazz vocalists, with a distinctive, warm voice. Since her 2011 debut she has released seven studio albums, earning platinum and gold records. She has worked with artists such as Michał Urbaniak, John Scofield and Nikola Kołodziejczyk. Off stage, she combines music with work as a psychologist and sexologist, which gives her music a therapeutic quality.

Monika’s close bond with Mr Wasowski’s work goes back many years: “I love Jerzy Wasowski for his lightness, his musical wit, his jazz phrasing, but also for the lyricism that moves everything in me. His music gives me emotion, goosebumps all over, teary eyes, giggles, a wide smile and a huge urge to sing! Because I really do sing for songs like these. If Mr Wasowski’s compositions didn’t exist, knowing my temperament, I would probably have got bored of singing long ago.”

The album of Jerzy Wasowski’s songs will be released in autumn 2025 in cooperation with the Jerzy Wasowski Foundation. Alongside songs such as “Żegnaj Kotku”, “Miłość u wód”, “Bądź dobry i dla męża” and “Lubię być szczęśliwa”, it will feature a new song with lyrics by Grzegorz Wasowski – “Z Wasowskim do łóżka”.
