Drawing on the spirit of the ’70s, when funk, soul, fusion and psychedelia were just discovering their limits, Klawo play with tradition, blending it with contemporary jazz, indie and electronics. Their sound brings together groove and analogue warmth with improvisational freedom and a contemporary sparkle. On stage they become a living organism, pulsing with energy, laughter and spontaneous interaction with the audience.

The Klawo sextet was born in Gdańsk in 2020. Konstanty Kostka, Malina Midera, Tomasz Rafalski, Alicja Sobstyl, Artur Szalsza and Karol Tchórz together form a unique band that quickly caught the attention of critics and listeners.

Their studio releases and danceable, expressive live energy have taken Klawo to the biggest festivals – from Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Eurosonic in the Netherlands and Fusion Festival in Germany to Off Festival, Męskie Granie, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Inside Seaside and Jazz Around. They have performed in thirteen countries, earning a reputation as one of the most original voices of young Polish alternative music.

In March 2025 they released their second album, “2 bobry i zachód słońca” (2 Beavers and a Sunset), on Coastline Northern Cuts – the fruit of a long period of playing, travelling and constant improvisation together.
