‍

Grammy-winning guitarist, singer and composer from Chicago. Isaiah Sharkey is one of those names whose achievements could be listed at great length – or need no introduction at all. His sound is a contemporary hybrid of soul, R&B and jazz, built on the foundation of the African American guitar tradition – from Wes Montgomery and George Benson to Curtis Mayfield and Jimi Hendrix.

On stage, Sharkey isn’t after cheap effects but genuine connection with the audience. His concerts are encounters built on groove, space and improvisation – with a narrative told through guitar and voice. Each song seems to be part of a larger story, slowly revealing new chapters in dialogue with the band and the audience.

With material from his new album RED, Sharkey opens a more organic and introspective chapter of his work – fewer production layers, more raw, analogue sound. Music rooted in tradition but looking ahead: simple in form and rich in emotion.
