About the concert

‍

Three improvisers, three virtuosos of their instruments, three masters of building space – on one stage.  Grzech Piotrowski’s “Horizon” trio tells the story of a life that begins somewhere in outer space, beyond the body. That evening, the music at Scena MONK will accompany its “hero” through the most important moments of their earthly journey, the good and the bad. It will ring out with a final note that marks the beginning of another cosmic story.

Trio

‍

Eivind Aarset – an internationally acclaimed guitarist with a unique musical vision that absorbs you and leads you through many genres... “Rhythm is the centre of music, the landscape the soloist travels through. These are uncharted spaces with no end, yet full of great sounds from which new music is born – and that exploration is what makes the whole creative process so exciting.”

Terje Isungset connects art with nature. A percussionist and composer who has used natural materials such as wood and stone in his music; in the 1990s he began creating instruments made of ice and co-founded the world-famous, decades-long Ice Music Festival Norway!

Grzech Piotrowski – a versatile musician, saxophonist, composer and arranger. Described as an impressionist painting sound-pictures, his music is a journey full of space, emotion and magic. Leader of World Orchestra.
