About the concert
Błoto return to Scena MONK together with Ion D.
Where Wrocław cobblestones meet Bucharest concrete. The musical foundation of Błoto’s collaboration with Ion D, a pillar of the Romanian alternative scene, is an unprecedented genre melting pot in which raw elements of electro, techno, house and dark dub meet a hip-hop pulse.
This machine-made skeleton is filled with global inspirations: from trance-like afrobeat and ethereal ambient washes to bold nods to Romanian manele and sunny balearic. The result is the album “Atmosfera” – a story in two acts about the tensions of late capitalism and the search for freedom, which this November will resound within the historic walls of the Klub KOT tenement building.
This is music that bids farewell to the “jazz” label without regret, in favour of a relentless pulse, psychedelia and Polish-Romanian experimentation. It’s jazz on the ruins of jazz, loosely dubbed “Eastern-Oriental” by Ion.
