The debut album by Basia Małecka – a new voice and a fresh perspective on the Polish jazz scene – came out a year ago, and its popularity shows no sign of fading. Since its release in October 2024, Basia has been selling out concerts all over Poland.
She has performed at the legendary Agnieszka Osiecka Studio of Polish Radio’s Trójka, at the National Museum in Warsaw and at the Dwa Teatry Festival, where her concert was recorded and broadcast by TVP Kultura. She released the album independently, acting as her own art director, PR person and project manager, and within a year built a unique, loyal community around her.
For the past year Basia has hosted her own show, “Studio B”, on Trójka (Sundays at 21:00), presenting music discovered in small clubs, independent labels and vinyl shops in London.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
A nu-jazz take on the songs of Agnieszka Osiecka, far removed from the originals, performed by 25-year-old Basia Małecka. It combines soulful groove and horns, jazz harmonies and laid-back vocals. Basia strips Osiecka’s work of theatrical drama and mannerisms and rediscovers unpopular and forgotten songs by outstanding Polish jazz musicians. Thanks to Jacek Piskorz’s arrangements for jazz septet and 20-piece orchestra, she draws the poet’s cult songs into the world of neo-soul.

BIO:
Basia Małecka – singer, composer and lyricist blending pop, soul and jazz. A graduate of the Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków. An independent artist who oversees every aspect of her work herself.
